If the issue is about "protecting minorities from the “tyranny” of the majority with the view of promoting a pluralist, diverse and progressive society." - then i think that there are other greater issues to talk about. Limiting the issue to only homosexuality is definitely not helpful.

who are you to say that? do you know that sometimes homosexuality can be genetically-determined? imagine if you were born with only one arm, and i disassociate myself with you, simply because i believe having a wholesome body is normal and having just one arm is just "plain wrong", aren't i being selfish, not to say extremely shallow and obviously a bigot? it is by no means the fault of the individual in this case, because his trait (of being gay) isn't formed by he himself, but due to his genes.

but i'll tell you what kills homosexuals or drive them to have suicidal tendencies- the inability for society to accept them, many of the time because of pre-conceived notions that are untrue and false. yes i am talking about vicious prejudices which then leads to discrimination. this, even by a heterosexual point of view, is just not fair. i think it's time for our society to move on in progression to a higher level of humanity- acceptance.
